The little drummer boy story is actually of American origin. When the drum sounds, people are always roused up und swept along by the beat. There’s an expression known as “drumming reveille”, literally “drumming someone awake”. 

One of the oldest musical instruments is, without a doubt, the drum. Drums appear in many different sizes little drums, kettle-drums or, the elongated drums, commonly used by foot soldiers during the Middle Ages. No opera, symphony or military music can do without the drum. In modern “bands”, the drum has become the percussion instrument par excellence, determining the essential rhythm of a “song”. 

Our little drummer boy though is much sweeter. He beats his drumsticks on his instrument. He will inspire you to engage in only happy activities!
